How to control your PC or Mac using iPhone or Android smartphone


f you want to control your PC or Mac using your smartphone or want to access any file or document from it, you can do so using Remote Desktop Connection feature. This feature uses the RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) and allows users to control or manage the host machine remotely on your local network or over the internet. Wondering how? Here’s our ready-to-use-guide for you:


1.You must be running the latest version of Google Chrome on your host machine
2.Chrome Remote Desktop app must be installed on your smartphone
3.Both the host and the remote device should be connected to the internet

Using Chrome extension:

1.Open your respective app store on your Android or iOS (iPhone/iPad) device
2.Download and install ‘Chrome Remote Desktop’ app
3.Now, open Google Chrome on your PC or Mac
4.Download and install ‘Chrome Remote Desktop’ extension
5.Now type ‘chrome://apps’ in the address bar and press ‘Enter’ key
6.Click on the ‘Chrome Remote Desktop’ icon to open it
7.Now, click on ‘Get started’ from ‘My Computers’ section
8.The extension will automatically download a file, install it
9.After the installation process is finished, head back to the extension and click on ‘Enable Remote Connections’
10.Setup a new ‘PIN’ for your connection and click ‘OK’
11.Open the app on your smartphone and tap on the ‘PC’ name
12.Authenticate the connection using the ‘PIN’ (PIN from step 11)

1.Open Google Chrome and visit ‘’
2.Click on ‘Remote Access’ option
3.Now, click on ‘Turn On’ button to start the process
4.Choose a new name for your computer or use the existing one
5.Click on ‘Next’ and set up a new ‘PIN’ for the connection
6.Now, hit the ‘Start’ button
7.Download and install ‘Chrome Remote Desktop’ app from your respective app stores
